Chianti Rufina Montesodi 2005 Frescobaldi

My Top Ten Chianti  Reviewed One by One

Montesodi Marchesi de Frescobaldi EVERYWINE

If I had to choose a wine that best represents the Chianti Rufina area, Montesodi certainly would be the first wine I would think about.

The color is characterized by the classic Chianti ruby with purple hues that enhance the clarity. The bouquet of aromas is very interesting from sweet red berry fruit, like raspberries and currants, followed by the inevitable note of ripe cherries, until you get to like spicy pepper and vanilla. The taste is very fine, but not too strong with very soft tannins that make this wine smooth but not cloying, thanks also to a good acid component. Gives the impression of being able to be aged along.
