Chardonnay 2007 Tasca d’Almerita

Chardonnay Tasca

from the fantastic island which is Sicily ladies and gentlemen Chardonnay from Tasca d’Almerita.

Tasca d’Almerita in my opinion is one of the winery that better represent at the same time the history and the recent rebirth of the Sicilian wine in Italy and in the world. This wine is a good example of this rebirth.
Whit it’s 14° of alcohol, it’s a wine with a strong character. Straw color with an intense  and complex aroma made of hints of vanilla, peanut butter and ripe fruit. The taste is warm, full and opulent, elegant, where the woody component it’s well integrates. Has an excellent persistence and a remarkable structure. Considering it’s a white wine can be aged for long.

I had this wine two weeks ago when visiting Agrigento, a wonderful town on the Isle of Sicily. Never in my life- I am sixty years old – tasted a better Chardonnay.
