Where is the Sicilian hospitality ?

When I go around the world, especially when I visit some winery, I never mention I work in the wine sector and neither I mention I have a personal blog that talks about wine. This because I don’t want the people could be influenced by this. For this reason sometimes I have some bad surprise like it happen in Sicily during my working holiday this week. In several winery the hospitality was very bad, everything was just reduced in a simple ” do you want to buy anything?”
Ok everybody knows that they need to sell and if you are there probably you want to buy but the question is, what I am going to buy?
In several winery I didn’t have any explanation about the wines, the way of doing it, nothing. I personally hate this kind of behavior and usually when I find these kind of people I change my way. I would like to remember to the wine makers that for sure distributors, trader, importers are very important for their business but people like us, the end customers are still the persons that buy wine. These winery, some also important from my side will not have their wine reviewed in my blog. To be clear in Sicily till now I have visited 12 winery, and “only” in 5 I saw this kind of behavior. I suggest to this people to remember an Italian way of saying ” who fly too high usually fall”
