Le Volte 2008 – Ornellaia

With this wine I want to close the ideal circle of the “little brothers” wines. Yes because, together with Le Macchiole,little brother of Messorio and Le Difese of Sassicaia, respectively from le Macchiole and Tenuta San Guido wineries, this wine rapresent the little brother of a great wine: Tenuta dell’Ornellaia. I belive that this 3 wines rapresent the possibility to approach at a reasonable price to the quality that this wineries put in their work. I don’t want to say, obviusly, that we are at the same level of the big brother, but for sure we are at a good starting point. Talking about the wine, has an interesting deep violet colour with a sweet now that anyway has a sour note. Taste is quite soft but the acid note is a little too pronounced, but the overall quality is certainly appreciated.
